‘Media should project a democratic mind-set’

SWABI: Pakistan Muslim League Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain highlighted the importance of press freedom and urged the media to play its role in projecting democratic values based on tolerance. He was addressing the oath taking ceremony of newly elected office bearers of Ghandahra Union of Journalists in Swabi.

Mushahid said the freedom of the media was permanent and it was good for democracy. He assured the government would continue to take steps to ensure freedom of press at all levels.

He invited the delegation of Ghandahra Union of Journalists to visit Islamabad and promised to arrange their meeting with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He announced a donation of Rs 50,000 for the Ghandahra Union of Journalists. app
